Tamar Kleinberger

Tamar Kleinberger received her B.Sc. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and her M.Sc. and Ph.D.
from the Weizmann Institute of Science (Rehovot, Israel). She did her postdoctoral studies at Princeton
University (NJ, USA) in Prof. Thomas Shenk’s laboratory, where she received training in adenovirus biology.
Tamar has joined the Technion Faculty of Medicine as an independent group leader in 1995 and her lab focuses
on research of the adenovirus E4orf4 protein, a killer of cancer cells and a contributor to the complex and
fascinating network of adenovirus-host cell interactions.
Tamar has supervised 22 graduate students (past and present)
who contributed to publications in highly regarded journals including PNAS,
Journal of Cell Biology, Nucleic Acids Research, PLOS Pathogens, Journal of Virology,
Journal of Biological Chemistry, and others.
