Matti Waterman

Dr. Matti Waterman is a staff gastroenterologist at the Rambam Health Care Campus, Haifa, Israel and is director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Service at the Department of Gastroenterology at Rambam.
Dr. Waterman completed a two-year Advanced Fellowship Program in IBD at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada.  Currently he is appointed Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Technion’s B. Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, Israel. He is an author of  papers and  book chapters in the fields of IBD, capsule endoscopy and gut inflammation and cancer.
He was awarded several prizes for excellence in medical teaching and for his research activity. Dr. Waterman serves as Israel’s representative to the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO).
He is also a member of the Israeli Gastroentological Association. Dr. Waterman’s main research interests are prognostic factors in IBD; the immune response in IBD, therapeutic drug monitoring, the association between cancer and IBD and capsule endoscopy of the large intestine.
