Guest Parking Protocol During The Kahn – Rappaport Building Construction
The construction period will move us forward, but in the meantime, it’s reducing parking spaces on the faculty campus. This requires us to plan ahead and prepare differently than we’re used to. To avoid misunderstandings with guests, it’s important to submit requests for parking permits in an orderly and timely manner.
Here’s everything you need to know:
Guests:
Guests are defined as anyone who comes to the faculty on a one-time basis and/or infrequently and non-consecutively. The following populations, among others, will be considered guests:
- Lecturers at conferences/events
- Course instructors
- Tutors attending workshops
- Actors
- Academic guests
- Exam proctors (exception)
The guest populations listed above are permitted to park in the Rambam or Samelet parking lots, subject to availability and payment. They will receive a reimbursement for their expenses via bank transfer (not cash).
Parking Approval Process:
- Administrative unit managers will submit consolidated requests for guest parking for the units they manage as early as possible through the SAP system.
- The guest invitation screen has been updated accordingly. When entering a guest invitation for a visit to the Faculty of Medicine, an additional tab will open where you must select “Guests – Rambam/Samelet.”
- An approval/rejection notification from the SAP system will be sent automatically to the unit manager.
- No reimbursement will be given for guests who did not receive pre-approved paid parking.
Expense Reimbursement Process:
- The head of the administrative department will centrally forward the original receipts at the end of each month to the procurement and logistics unit.
- Full bank account details, including the account holder’s name and mobile phone number, must be attached to each receipt.
- The faculty’s finance department will handle the bank transfers.
- The reimbursement will not exceed the maximum daily amount for the relevant parking lot (Rambam – 49 NIS, Samlet – 25 NIS).
Technion Staff:
- Faculty staff are not entitled to a parking fee reimbursement. Parking is based on availability and follows the procedure for handling parking inquiries here.
- Technion staff are not entitled to a parking fee reimbursement. To get approval for parking on an availability basis at the Port parking lot, please submit a request to med-feedback@technion.ac.il. (Parking is subject to prior approval via a return email).
