Omri Barak

omri barakOmri Barak was born in Beer Sheva, Israel in 1976. He is a member of both the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine and of the Network Biology Research Laboratories at the Technion. He received his BSc (2003) in math & physics from the Technion, and his MSc (2005) and PhD (2009) from the Weizmann institute of Science. He then did a postdoc with Stefano Fusi and Larry Abbott in Columbia University, and was appointed as an assistant professor at the Technion in 2012.

Omri studies how the dynamics of neural networks in the brain support the processes of learning and memory, using theoretical tools from the worlds of mathematics and physics and analyzing data from experiments obtained from research laboratories with which he collaborates.
