In the beginning of the 21st century, the importance of information systems to medicine increases rapidly.

Technion's Faculty of Medicine is uniquely qualified to provide expert training in Medical Informatics. One of the few Medical Schools affiliated with a technological institution, the Technion offers a broad base of high-level resources in a wide range of technological fields, including Biomedical Engineering and Computer Sciences. The Galil Center is presently involved with a number of educational initiatives developed to prepare clinicians for the challenges of providing medical care in the 21st century.
