At present, Galil Center is directed by Prof. Eddy Karnieli and is composed of two major research groups: a bioinformatics and pharmacogenetics group headed by Professor Ariel Miller, and a research group on electronic medical records and decision support systems headed by Dr. Shmuel Reis. In the beginning of the 21st century, the importance of information systems to medicine increases rapidly. The successful implementation of medical information systems into daily practice requires dedicated education and training.
